The giving season is upon us! Advertisements, both visual and audio, induce, tempt, and in all ways attempt to coerce us into buying something to give to someone. It just seems to me sometimes that the giving part has been hijacked by the selling part.

As my family can attest, I need many reminders of things that I am asked to do. I just get so busy in my own work that I forget very easily the tasks and errands I am supposed to run for someone.

The game was over! Very few people could visualize a way they could come back and win. Crimson Tide fans were sad. Tiger fans were ecstatic! Death Valley had claimed another victim. After all, under current head coach Les Miles, the LSU Tigers were 46-3 in home games on Saturday nights. LSU lined up to kick the ball to Alabama leading 13-10 with :50 seconds left in the game. Alabama had no timeouts left.

All who were assembled with the Church in Richmond on Sunday or watching via the internet know that I had a battle with laryngitis. It was brought on by sinus activity trying to migrate into my chest. This is a very common ailment that has attacked everyone from time to time. One other person was going through the same thing with me on Sunday. No one wants to experience laryngitis, but I actually think I received some value from it!
