Rebecca and I had a strange experience the year the tornado came through Richmond. The 2012 tornado roared through Richmond while she and I were in a theater. Other than a brief flickering of lights, there was no real alarm that there was anything wrong. It was not until exiting the theater that we realized there was something really wrong!

It certainly is not a mystery that I love food! I love trying new food! I love eating the old standbys. I love to mix my food together to create new taste sensations. But, I want my food cooked! No sushi! Also, leave the beets at the store; I don’t do beets! And desserts…I’ll will just say that some people are sweet enough. I don’t want any desserts.

A group of teenaged friends is walking through a candy shop. One of them picks up a piece of candy and secretly slides it into her pocket. Later, the others see it and are disappointed. But, she responds, “It’s only a small piece of candy!”

I remember well the afternoon that I spent in a greenhouse. It was by the order of my dad. His education, both at home and at college, was agriculturally based. My entire home life was deeply connected to those same roots. He so badly wanted me and my brothers to have the experiences he had growing up that he tried to duplicate, in miniature, a farm on our lowly 5 acres located in a town neighborhood! I have many stories that I will not tell here.
